GAHHHH.

Okay, I'm officially ready to lose it. I wake up this morning to buy ONE Strokes ticket through the Edge pre-sale, after not sleeping well all night from having nightmares about not being able to get a ticket (seriously, isn't that pathetic?). I go to the Inside Edge page where the password was to be displayed, and for the first, like, 3 minutes the password wasn't even there. Then they finally have it, so I go to the Ticketmaster page. They won't even let you fill out the form to buy tickets 'til about 10:07. Finally it's displayed, after I pressed "reload" about 2892 times.
THEN IT TELLS ME THAT THERE ARE NO TICKETS LEFT?! WHAT THE FUCK?! I CAN'T BUY ONE TICKET?!
This is fucking ridiculous.
If any of you bandwagon-jumping Strokes "fans" managed to get a ticket while I didn't, I'm going to be very angry (even angrier than I already am). It's a sad, cruel day when someone like me can't get a Strokes ticket, even though they were there the second they went on sale.

I officially hate the world.

I'm going to go take a Tylenol now.

Good day.
You bastards.

I'm sorry. Really I am. I work at the Edge, and we had a number of people complain about the presale this morning. There were a number of problems including the fact that you couldn't buy an odd number of tickets. So, if you wanted 3, you had to get 4. Or, if you wanted 1, you had to get 2. Thusly, a bunch of people will have extra tickets they're trying to get rid of. Hopefully.

Weeeeird! (About the odd/even # thing.)
I think my crankiness was mostly due to the fact that I barely slept last night, and then I woke up to that debaucle. However, I'm going to try to get tickets tomorrow from another online pre-sale, so let's cross our fingers!
Thanks for the explanation, though!

Similar thing happened with me and Franz Ferdinand tickets. They sold out during the pre-sale and I could feel my heart splitting in half. We all know what a crazy FF fan I am. ;__;

Ugh, that SUCKS! They set aside all of the tickets for the pre-sale? That's insane. Usually they just set aside a certain amount, ya know?
Gah, I hate concert tickets that are hard to get, haha.

Preach it. I too had issues with the Strokes presale exactly as you described. From the delay in releasing the password to the inexplicable lack of a button to purchase tickets for the first 10 minutes it'd make wonder if Corus or Ticketmaster have ever done presales if I didn't know better.

Anyway, I was luckily able to get tickets. But thanks to the above mentioned problem by Amanda I had to purchase four tickets instead of the three I wanted. If you're looking for one feel free to contact me, but I imagine you'll likely be looking for at least a pair so you can bring a plus one. Otherwise good luck with the public sale this Sat.

Also I wanted to say thanks for being on top of the Strokes announcement (withouy you I wouldn't have been wise to the presale) and for the Strut party pictures. I'm glad I followed your link over from Rock Snob herself, Miss Valerie.

MikeyD, ignore my e-mail! I managed to get a floor seat through the Strokes newsletter thingy. But thanks for the offer!
And thanks for saying all the nice things about my blog. I will definitely have to link you :)
